Kristen Marie Green
Kristen Marie Green, Ph.D. is an interdisciplinary social scientist whose research focuses on how coastal communities are adapting to climate change and other stressors in relation to fisheries and aquaculture systems. She is particularly interested the socio-economic, cultural, and environmental drivers of resilience in small-scale fishing communities, and has extensive experience working with Indigenous harvesters to support food sovereignty and holistic approaches to ecosystem wellbeing. She has over 15 years of experience working with coastal communities. She is currently a research associate at University of Washington School of Marine and Environmental Affairs.
She completed her PhD Stanford University in the Emmett Interdisciplinary Program in Environment and Resources. Prior to her PhD she managed commercial groundfish in the Gulf of Alaska for the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. She also holds a Master’s from Moss Landing Marine Labs.
